In the generation of Firefox, Mozilla no one would be using Internet Explorer as the browser. I do use only the Opera or sometimes the Firefox. What the problem is that the Internet Explorer is always under the eye of the attackers so there should be some way to disable the Internet Explorer. Uninstalling can be one of the opinion, but most of the times Internet Explorer comes with the Windows itself. Just not using the Internet Explorer will won’t work, we would have to disable the Internet Explore . The easiest way to disable it is to change the proxy settings. Here are the steps to disable the Internet Explorer.
- Open IE, Select ’Tools>>Internet>>Option>>Connection>>Lan Settings’.
- Put a tick in the check box next to ’Use a Proxy Server for your LAN……’
- Type in “0.0.0.0” in the address box and ’80’ in the port box. Click ’OK’.
So from now onwards you no one will be able to access the net using Internet Explorer and no attacker would be able to penetrate into the computer using the security holes in IE.
What we have set up a dummy proxy server 0.0.0.0 that goes nowhere. With these settings IE cannot make an HTML connection to the Internet. Thus we have simply and effectively disabled the IE.
If you ever need to re-enable Internet Explorer, start it, go to ’Lan Setting’ (as specified in first step) and uncheck the box ’Use a Proxy Server for your Lan……….”
